Clean dirt and grit from the upper and lower
tracks. Fill a bucket with water and dish soap, and use the mixture to wipe
grit from the tracks with the sliding door closed. Wipe the track dry with a
towel. Open the sliding door operators, and clean and dry the exposed tracks the same way.
2
Spray the upper and lower tracks with an oil
lubricant with the door open. Close the door and spray the exposed upper and
lower tracks with the same lubricant.
3
Wet a cloth with rubbing alcohol. Then wipe the top
of the door surface with the cloth to clean it.
4
Remove the strip off the back of the door closer to
expose the adhesive.
5
Place the adhesive side of the closer on the top
border of the sliding door, not the door frame. Make sure the right of the
closer is 4 inches from the door frame. Press the closer to the sliding door
with medium pressure until adhesive sets.
6
Line the hook up with the closer, so they are
parallel. Screw the hook to the wood, metal or concrete door frame using an
electric drill. The hook holds the closer string, allowing the closer to shut
the door.
7
8
Open the door and test the door to make sure it
closes automatically.
9
Double-knot the string around the hook to ensure it
stays in place.
